As a Bookkeeper at Evolve Technologies, you will play a critical role in maintaining our financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting our financial operations. You will work closely with our finance team to manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in our accounting system, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
• Prepare and submit regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Work with external accountants and auditors to prepare for annual audits and tax filings.
• Maintain accurate records of employee expenses and process reimbursement requests.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Support the finance team with ad hoc financial tasks and projects as needed.
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably within the IT or technology sector.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPB, QB ProAdvisor) is an asset.
